Description of the Artifact
The students will be creating an alphabet class book using a powerpoint presentation. First, the children will brainstorm ideas as to how they want to present their class book. This brainstorming process will be documented with photos and anecdotes. The students will then be asked to take pictures around the school of objects that have the beginning letter assigned to them (example: pencil for letter P). This will be done during the reading groups and computer time. These photos will then be uploaded in a powerpoint presentation. The children can also include sentences about the photos taken.

Reflection
This has been an enriching procject for both the children and the students. As they have used the digital cameras to document photos of objects aroud the classroom that begin with a specific letter for their alphabet book, they have claimed ownership of their own project. It was a powerful experience for the children also to be able to narrate and record their own voice on voicethread. This project has not only been an experience of using technology per se, but also an experience of making literacy come alive through the use of technology.
